Me, genius!?! tHsho d'a :-) I am just your humble average Berhan with an average Eritrean's good will and love towards his country. But I agree that quite a few thinking and patriotic Eritreans have also been at a loss to come up with some rational explanation for this latest MoFA press statement.
I see that someone has rather hastily chastised you on the DMB (why am I not surprised!). It seems that our DMB friend was thinking of another Sakharov -- the famed and late Russian scientist dissident and peace activist, Andrei Sakharov. I understand that there is these days an award named after him called the Sakharov Prize. I highly doubt that the reference to the "Sakharov fiction" in this MoFA statement has anything to do with the Sakharov Prize. But it's no wonder that the very vagueness of the MoFA press statement renders folks to make all kinds of unfounded speculations and go on wild goose chases.
As things stand now, I think it best to just drop the matter and not cause any undue focus and attention on a matter that perhaps should have been best left to the appropriate discreet agencies and institutions to deal with rather than MoFA. Hey, the usual rambling Shabait editorial might have even been the best response in this case :-)
In the meantime, let's all keep alert and on guard from shady shenanigans from the masters of lies and deception.

Nope, it's *not* just you who was baffled by the MoFA press release. If someone like you who I consider to be a genius can't make "heads or tails out of it" then you don't want to know how much people like me got out of it. Hint: it's a negative number.
For starters, what is Sakharov's full name?
While I applaud that MoFA responded on such a timely fashion, I think this sounds like it was not worth its time (or somebody please enlighted me!). Besides, if MoFA were to respond to every daily CIA & Woyane-financed false propaganda on Eritrea, it'd not have enough employees or time to get around to it.
