Eritreanidol wins year-long music contest

In thisyear’s Eritrean Shingrwamusical talent competition, Arafat Hamid won first place. Arafat won in thefinal round against two other finalists following a year-long competition amongmore than 350 contestants.
Minister ofTourism Askalu Menkerios handed out the prizes to the winners. Arafat Hamid received 80,000 Nakfa for firstplace, Abdu Yusuf won 50,000 Nakfa for second place and Minas Belay received 30,000Nakfa for third place.
Tigrignareporter Tewelde Weldegebriel talked with the first-place winner, Arafat Hamid,who wants to further the art and culture of Eritrea. Tewelde also interviewed the three judges,Barnabas Mebrahtu, Yemane Kidane and Yoel Gide.
