It is the beginning of the new US diplomat in charge of Africa, Ambassador Carson, to expose himself to the diferent elements in the region--Bush era friends, allies, enemies, etc..., and it seems he is fully charged with the misinformation from his predecessor Jenday Fraisier to handle his new responsibility.
Obviously, from his first ever contact with the Eritrean Embassy in Washington, D.C., to his attendance in the first AU session during his tenure and his comments over Somalia he seems to be employing the Bush era policies and is facing repulses.
Jendai Fraisier has done her part of spoiling the relationship by trying to satisfy her failed leader. Could someone in the Obama office advise Ambassador Carson to rid himself from the old data and start to learn the real situation and come up with a better means of solving problems in Africa and create a better medium of cooperation of the concerned country, such as Eritrea, with the US!! Maintaining a status that have already failed, working with misguided policies, trying to show a "do what I say!" attitude with the aim of safegarding US upper hand in Africa will benefit neither Africa nor the US.
