We all have been acutely aware of the false accusations of the Americans and their allies regarding Eritrean military support of the Somalis, which culminated in the US Secretary of State issuing her most recent threats. What is rather amusing about Hilary Clinton's statement was that it was delivered in the presence of a man whom the Americans had branded as a terrorist and a threat to the US less than three years ago. The good Sheik must have undergone some spectacular rehabilitation programme or the American State department must think that the People of the Horn are a bunch of gullible fools.
The Americans and their allies have been asked many times to back their accusations with credible proof but have failed to come up with a single ounce of proof. However, this has not prevented them regurgitating the same false accusation in the vain hope that something repeated enough times will become true. Its not hard to provide proof of the presence of Eritrean Military aid. When the Ethiopians denied that their troops were in Somalia, irrefutable proof was provided and they had to admit that they indeed had a military presence in Somalia.
What the Americans have failed to understand is that, after their Iraq WMD debacle, after their Secretary of State stood before the World at the UN with 'proof' of WMD, the World is a bit more wary of American accusations. The Iraq affair and the Orange clad inmates of Guantanamo Bay are but a few of the eye openers that have helped to dispel the belief held by many, that America stood for freedom and justice.
Whereas the Americans will stand unabashedly in front of the World and accuse Eritrea, yet they portray their recent arms shipment to a virtually non-exist-ant government as extending a life line to the Somali people and not as source of further destabilisation, death and destruction.
The Americans will nonetheless continue down their road of lies, manipulation death and misery while trying desperately trying to fit into their rather threadbare outdated costume of 'defender of Democracy'.
Well, so much for the Change that Obama promised, order of the day seems to be "same again sir". Different President, same policies
