The 25 August 2009 Wall Street Journal article “Four Ways to Help Africa”
written by
Jendayi E. Frazier, the former US Assistant Secretary of State for African
Affairs should
not be taken seriously by the Obama Administration. The former Bush
Administration
official is trying to cover up her own mistakes and blunders. Suffice it to
mention a
couple:
** *Frazer single handedly derailed the Eritrea Ethiopia border issue and
prevented the
implementation of the Final and Binding decision of the Eritrea Ethiopia
Boundary
Commission (EEBC)
** *Frazer’s flawed and distorted analysis of the situation in Somalia,
coupled with her
instigation of the Ethiopian invasion and occupation of Somalia in 2006,
remain the
root causes of the current problems in Somalia. Frazer is personally
responsible for
the tragedy that has unfolded in Somalia. Over 20,000 Somalis have been
killed and
hundreds of thousands of have been injured and maimed and over 2 million
have been
displaced from their homes and villages as a result of her incompetence and
willful
behavior.
** *Frazer complicated and exacerbated issues in the Congo and the Sudan
The former Bush Administration official who has saddled the Obama
Administration
with multiple failures in Africa does not have the moral or legal authority
to lecture or
advise anyone about anything in Africa, least of all the new US
Administration.
