*Petros Welday shows he has what it takes to be a top-notch runner.*
EAAA member Petros Welday of Archbishop Carroll high school in
Washington D.C was the winner of the 2009 Richard Barnhart Cross Country
Invitation Men’s 5K that took place at Dulaney High School near Baltimore
Maryland. After the first 800 meters of the race, Petros Welday charged in
front of his closest competition and rival who was the only runner to make
the effort to stay with him. Petros seemed very excited by his performance
after defeating 158 runners that took part in the competition. Petros Welday
who is getting ready to run at the Maymont Festival in Richmond, Virginia in
a few weeks went on to win in a time of 15:48, one of the fastest times
recorded in recent school history. The second place runner finished in a
time of 16:25. EAAA would like to congratulate Petros for a job well done
and wishes him success in his next competition and throughout the season.
