The State of Qatar (Dawlat Qatar) was recently awarded the 2022 World Cup bid, beating off rival bids from the United States, Australia, South Korea and Japan.
Over the last decade and half, The State of Eritrea (Dawlat Eritrea) has not had a better friend than Qatar in the Middle East. Indeed Qatar is among Eritrea's most reliable partners not just in the Middle East but anywhere in the world.
So a big, fat congratulations to Qatar for winning the bid to host the world's most watched sporting event!
