I am glad that PIA is going to address Eritreans via local media at a time when most of us are baffled by these criminals so-called UN Security council. Viewing the 48 minute web cast of the whole kangaroo court, just a day before Christmas Eve is mind boggling. I am sure others who are more knowledgeable can address this under a different thread, but when those 13 delegates, led by the Burkina Faso ambassador, raised their hands to say "YES", with China washing off its hands and Libya screaming out "NO" to the crucifixion; it sure is indeed a mind boggling event. And what's even more puzzling is that, this Kangaroos had the audacity to invite Djibouti, Ethiopia and Somalia to witness their criminal acts. In a way, I am glad they did because the Somalia crook made a big fool of him self when he accused Eritrea of providing "a sanctuary to known Somali terrorists in 2007," whom one of them happened to be Sheik Sheriff Ahmed, his own boss. If there was a meter for stupidity, this guy would have busted it. The Djibouti delegate just lamented boringly for what seems to be hours and hours about the border dispute between Djibouti and Eritrea, which was actually not bad considering the UNSC's failure to resolve the FINAL and BINDING boundary dispute between Eritrea and Ethiopia.
Back to PIA's interview; like I said, I am glad he is addressing his own people using the local media outlets. But I hope in the future, PIA refrains from giving extensive interviews to the foreign media journalist the way he has been doing in the past. I know our attitude of having nothing to hide and not afraid of anyone straight-talk is something that we are proud of. Our self-reliance and freedom from dependency on foreign aid and handouts are also something we cherish very much. But we must be cognizant that the current world of a single evil empire and its donors and beggars network are not keen to this type of just philosophy because it is against their modus operandi. So they hire these so-called journalists to twist, fabricate and misrepresent facts.
We all know that Eritrea has been a victim of such elaborated network of evil journalists. Remember Al-Jazeera’s “hidden camera” report; Financial Times twisted report; Washington post’s 2 consecutive day of Eritrea bashing articles. So I don’t think we should continue to cater to this sellout journalist in the same honest manner as we have been doing in the past. They don’t deserver to be told the truth so they should be fed junk. We know what the truth about Eritrea is and what Eritrea is all about.
What the UNSC did on December 23rd is the outcome of such a scheme and that is why it voted to punishing the innocent while rewarding the Crook? After this same court of Kangaroos victimized us twice, I think may be it is time that we play the crook too without abandoning your principles. All the camel has to do is SMILE while still marching forward.
So my new year's resolution for Eritrea is "Smile Camel, Smile!!!"
