Oglethorpe University Junior Recognized for Leadership and Problem Solving
ATLANTA, GA (05/17/2013)(readMedia)-- Atlanta resident Awet Woldegebriel was among four students selected to represent Oglethorpe University at the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI-U). Founded by President Clinton, CGI-U meets annually to bring together emerging young student leaders with youth organizations, topic experts and celebrities to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.The meeting was held April 5-7, 2013 at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
This is the second consecutive CGI-U meeting that Woldegebriel, an international studies major, has been invited to attend. Woldegebriel, originally from the State of Eritrea, founded the nonprofit Knowledge Aid, which collects, sorts, ships and distributes books to the children of Africa and Northern Argentina. In doing this, Knowledge Aid delivers sustainable knowledge and opportunity for enrichment to these communities.
Founded in 1835, Oglethorpe University is a leading liberal arts and sciences university which enrolls 1,100 students representing 34 states and 28 countries.
