Seattle Hosts Western US and Canada Eritrean Festival 2013!
You bet! The long anticipated 2013 Eritrean Festival of Western US and Canada is just around the corner! This annual “ንግደት ኤርትራውያን”, popularly known as simply “The Festival”, is expected to be one of the most memorable Eritrean national events abroad, featuring the Salina Band that have come to entertain us all the way from Home. Yes Salina band, so named in honor of our brave fighters and martyrs in the battle of Massawa at Salina, includes the indomitable Zeyneb Beshir, Dawit Shilan and Yohannes Tuquabo and much more.
The entire information/entertainment part of the Festival will be held in the world renown facility at the Seattle Center, the home of the towering Space Needle, the majestic Mount Rainier and the Ballard Locks, which make marine navigation possible between the higher water level of Lake Washington to the lower level of the Puget Sound and vice versa! Add to that, the pleasant Summer Pacific Northwest climatic conditions, it is a sure bet that the event will come and go with a smashing success! The event dates are August 9, 10 and 11. Please mark your calendar. Hotels and other accommodations have been reserved for the event and would be available on request. Other details and related information such as outdoor activities (including sports events) and transportation issues will follow on different messages. Please stay tuned!
