To the Family of veteran fighter Mr. Woldemichael Gebremariam, the People
of Eritrea, members of the PFDJ and the Government of Eritrea
The Eritrean community in Denver would like to convey our profound
condolences to the family, people of Eritrea and his comrades in the PDFJ
and the government of Eritrea. The departure of our beloved veteran fighter
Mr. Woldemichael Gebremariam, Minister of Local Government is a great loss,
as he passed away at the age of 72 in Keren city during his return from a
working visit in Gash-Barka region.
Mr. Woldemichael, as one of the founders of the Eritrean Liberation
Movement (ELM -Haraka), and a man who followed the steps of our founding
fathers in the critical time of our history ( Sheik Ibrahim Sultan and Mr.
Woldeab Woldemariam) as he went all the way to Cairo/ Egypt and then joined
the EPLF is one of our countless example as a freedom fighter and beloved
son of our nation.
We, as part of the Eritrean nation at large in the metropolitan of
Denver, we promise his family and the Eritrean people to keep remembering
and follow his steps and be devoted to what he contributed to Eritrea as he
served his people in various capacities with enthusiasm and dedication.
To us as he leave the nation now while he was working testify
and reflect on what kind of man he was. Today, Denver community will
gather to light candles to forward a great man who served his Eritrean family
at large.
Long live the glory of our great martyrs' and as always, we will keep
saying: "Victory to the People"
Sincerely,
The Eritrean community in Colorado and the mass organizations
