The Sudanese media on Thursday focused on the government decision to expel
the American boss of the UN population fund agency.ALintibaha (Arabic )
newspaper reported that the Foreign affairs Ministry has announced
yesterday, Wednesday, that it has expelled the head of the United Nation
Population Fund accusing her of interfering in domestic affairs.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq said that Pamela DeLargy
an American who headed the UN's Population Fund office in Sudan) was asked
to leave.

Khartoum (Arabic) newspaper stated that the foreign affairs ministry
decision is because she was not abiding by the country's laws and
interfered in the country's domestic affairs which are inconsistent with
her status as a UN official.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson affirmed that the procedures have nothing
to do with the UNFPA whose mission and programmes are very much appreciated
by Sudan.

Alray Alaam (Arabic) newspaper focused on the presidential decree to allow
the political freedoms in the country. The paper stated that Sudanese
president Omer Hassan al-Bashir has issued a presidential decree on
Wednesday allowing political parties to carry out their activities and hold
public meetings and seminars, as well as giving them equal access to state
media.

The paper further explained that the move comes within the framework of
creating an environment conducive for national dialogue among all political
parties.

Bashir has announced a series of resolutions at the onset of a political
roundtable held on Sunday in Khartoum with the participation of 83
political parties.

Sudan Tribune newspaper zoomed on the refusal of the Egyptian banks to
receive wire transfers from Sudanese and Libyan companies in line with
instructions issued by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBoE).

The CBoE decided to ban banking transactions with several Arab and African
countries, including Qatar, Libya, Syria and Sudan, saying those countries
are not committed to implementing anti-money laundering laws.

It also said there are suspicions that there are money transfers from those
countries to civil and rights organisations inside Egypt and are being
misused.

Under the headline of NISS Foils Human Trafficking Attempt, Frees Nine
Hostages, Sudan vision newspaper explained that Kassala-based unit of the
National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) blocked an attempt to
smuggle foreign nationals by human traffickers active at the border between
Sudan and Eritrea.

Special NISS operation code-named "the right track" managed to free nine
foreigners including a child brought by human traffickers from the Eritrean
town of Kern and Kassala, an informed security source has said.

NISS force carried out a daring operation by raiding the site where the
hostages were kept, freeing them and arresting the traffickers including
some who are wanted for crimes of human trafficking in the region, he said.

The hostages were shifted to safe location where they were provided with
necessary health and food services and the culprits were sent for
investigation, the source said.
