TPLF: Political stupidity is the norm, not the exception

If there were an Oscar for political stupidity, the MLLT apparatchik would
have been one of its top contenders. PIA in one of his interviews during the
Weyane aggression against Eritrea and its peace loving people was asked to
make sense of the senseless war. His response was measured, precise and to
the point.
He said that financial bankruptcy is a normal business phenomenon, but if
the bankruptcy is related to the human mind, it's a tragedy and doubly
troubling. He added that the "hassadat" Weyane's dream is the extermination
of the Eritrean race from the face of the Earth.
Haile Selassie, the barbaric emperor of Ethiopia, callously said that he was
not interested in the Eritrean people, but only and only in the Eritrean
ports and the Red Sea. The leader of the Fascist Derg, Mengistu H/Mariam,
didn't hide his desire for the final solution - finishing Eritreans once and
for all. Their master plans didn't materialize and the regimes were the ones
that were thrown into the dustbin of history.
Ethiopia is used to have leaders who lack the wisdom, sophistication and
farsightedness that enables them to look after her and her people's
interest. It's only in Ethiopia, where a Prime Minster, Meles Zenawi, could
say racist remarks with no qualms and without reservation on a national
television, that he can deport anybody, if he didn't like the color of their
eyes.
The Godfather of the TPLF, Sebhat Negga, in a rare interview with an Arabic
news media outlet, said that the Eritreans consider themselves as black Jews
and look down on the Arabs.
During the war of aggression against Eritrea, the leadership of the TPLF was
split into two factions. Both ethnic supremacists and political dimwits,
Seye Abraha and Abbay Tsehaie, used the occasion to declare themselves as
100% pure Tgrayans. The political reasoning behind it was to acquire some
political mileage from the Tigrayans by differentiating themselves from the
Meles faction - some of its members have Eritrean blood.
Who could forget, the Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Sium Mesfin, on national
television, shamelessly boasting that Ethiopia had accepted the EEBC verdict
and the ruling puts Badme inside the Ethiopian territorial boundaries. He
ordered the people to come out of their houses and celebrate in the streets
of Addis. Shortly after, both the PM and him made a U-turn and asked for a
dialogue to open the final and binding verdict - an act that made them look
like political amateurs and legal morons.
The late PM had the audacity to say that virtual demarcation was a legal
nonsense. For someone with an ounce of intelligence, it obvious that we are
living in an information age were advances in technology are fast changing
the way we communicate, interact and do business in our global village. It
seems like the uncultured peasants from Dedebit lack the sophistication and
wisdom to understand its global impact fully.
To the dismay and horror of all concerned, it was the nut cake Solome
Tadesse, the spokesperson of the Tribal Junta, in the height of the Weyane's
war of aggression, when asked by reporters about the Weyane's WWII's human
wave type of warfare and its subsequent deaths of tens of thousands of young
recruits, sarcastically asked the reporters a rhetorical question asking
them if there is a difference in the smell between the dead Ethiopian and
Eritrean corpses.
Gebru Asrat, the blood thirsty warlord, clarion call for genocide tops them
all. He said that Eritreans look down on us and compare us to flies and rats
and they said that a spray of Fleet insecticide and a rattrap could kill
1000 flies and 1000 rats respectively.
The most glaring examples of their political stupidity are their huge
strategic errors.
TPLF is the creation of Shaebia and its Shaebia that gave it the key to the
Menelik Palace. The Weyane know it well that it's Shaebia that created them
and Shaebia is the one that is going take them out when the time is right.
They can't rest while Shaebia is still alive and well. This is mainly the
reason why the Weyane's political universe is dominated by Eritrea, Shaebia
and Isaias.
They miscalculated and started a war of aggression against Eritrea and its
people and lost badly. These nonsensical war caused the destruction of the
spirit of cooperation and camaraderie cultivated, during the armed struggle,
between the two peoples of Eritrea and Tigray. The trust and friendship gaps
created as a result are hard to heal and repair.
They refused to use the Port of Asab which they were practically using it
for free just paying only nominal prices with their local currency the Birr,
told the Eritrean camels to use the port as their water drinking depot and
stopped importing Iodine added, as international standards, Eritrean sea
salt and forced Ethiopians to use non Iodinated salt mined in Tigray -the
result of which is an epidemic of Iodine Deficiency Syndromes in Ethiopia.
Driven by greed, inferiority complex and lack of experience and political
wisdom, they made themselves the de facto rulers of Ethiopia. All the other
Ethiopian stakeholders were excluded from participating in determining their
nation's destiny. A minority of a minority people of 6 million trying to
rule a nation of 90 million people defies logic and common sense.
Ethiopia history and flag were ridiculed. Axum and Lalibela were declared as
having nothing to do with the non Habesha Ethiopians and a donkey wearing an
Ethiopian flag was made to lead the parade during the TPLF's 27th
anniversary celebrations at Dedebit. All the Ethiopian ethnic groups were
bad mouthed, demonized, defamed and discredited and scolded except the
master race of Tigrayans.
The Albanian, Enver Hoxha, followers and Revolutionary democracy adolescents
declared that Ethnic Apartheid and Article 39 to be the laws of the land.
Everything and anything in Ethiopia became to be seen through an ethnic
prism. The divide and rule policy of the colonialists were applied to divide
and rule Ethiopians. Anything that had value was sold to the lowest bidder.
Ethiopians became aliens in their own homeland and their state of unity at
its lowest ebb..
The politics of hate became the Tribal Junta's defining characteristics,
ethnic and religious wars and conflicts became its survival tactics and were
systematically encouraged. The voice of the political nation was silenced by
brute force, political assassination and imprisonment became rampant and
looting Ethiopian riches and resources became part of the governing
etiquette.
They made Ethiopia the playground of foreign interests and the Ethiopian
people wishes and desires were never given primary considerations. The US
ambassador became the viceroy and have to have the final say. Ethiopian
policies were drafted by the US embassy employees in Addis. Foreign aid and
handouts became the life line of the corrupt Tribal Junta. Ethiopia became
the NGO capital of the world and bible trotting western evangelical
missionaries made a mockery of Ethiopia's ancient and respected religions.
Finally, the never ending shameful act of blaming Eritrea for everything and
anything under the sun and asking, begging and pleading with anyone who care
to listen in the world to punish Eritrea is a disgrace and humiliating to
the Ethiopian nation. Asking the UN for a 25 Km buffer zone, with no
Eritrean troops and heavy weapons, within the boundaries of Eritrea proper
is a sign of weakness, cowardice and degrading.
Then again, we are dealing with a Tribal Junta were honor, dignity, respect
have no meaning. Their political universe revolves around Eritrea and
Eritreans only. Ethiopia seems to be as their afterthought and part time
project. Their political stupidity is their Achilles Heels and will
certainly lead to their early demise and extinction. That is long overdue
and that is a good thing for the people of the region.
