Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir will visit Egypt on Saturday and Sunday,
at the invitation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, Sudan's presidential
press secretary Emad Ahmed told Ahram Online on Tuesday.
The two presidents will discuss the development of bilateral relations,
including investment opportunities, cooperation and agreements, as well as
regional matters, according to Ahmed.
"The meeting is a continuation of what was discussed with President El-Sisi
in Khartoum," said Ahmed. "It is an important visit that has dimensions and
consequences in the totality of the matters that relate both countries."
El-Sisi met with Al-Bashir in Sudan's capital Khartoum in June to discuss
developmental plans between both countries.
The visit will come two days after irrigation and water ministers of Egypt,
Sudan and Ethiopia meet in Cairo on Thursday and Friday of this week to
discuss the construction process of Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam - a
source of contention between Cairo and Ethiopia over the project's impact on
Nile water supplies.
Meanwhile, a land port between Egypt and Sudan known as Qostul-Ashkeet
opened in late August and is expected to increase trade exchange between
both countries.
