The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has grown tired of the Eritreans who have been granted protection in Norway, often visit their home country. Now add the restrictions on travel opportunities.
Immigration told the newspaper Vårt Land that there is extensive travel where Eritreans living in Norway visiting the homeland through Eritrea's neighboring countries.

Eritreans are mainly granted protection because they fear persecution by the authorities in their home country, said press adviser John Olav Kroken (UDI). Therefore, they narrow down the travel opportunities for Eritreans who are granted residence in Norway.
"By granting and renewal of travel documents and immigration passports to citizens of Eritrea, the document shall be valid for all countries except Eritrea, Ethiopia and Sudan," according to a recent circular from the Directorate.
