Amassed Special People that Eritrea Produced

Eritrea has produced and amassed special people. People who have this
powerful ambition that move at the speed of the thunderous lightning bolts
and reach heights as high as the Heavens. Something I find astounding and
remarkable. We have been blessed as a country and people to have been
garnered this potent source of magic. This foundation that has been
assaulted at countless times yet is impossible to cease. We truly have
something special going on in Eritrea. We have people who have passed the
surgical odds that have breezed through their faces with mighty force. I can
keep preaching the amazing. I can yell with power that I have a testimony to
God, a testimony that he has shown me a light in my country. A collective
group of special people bound to reach infinite heights. Bound to defeat all
adversity and struggle and spit it right back to where it came from. I have
a testimony that I have a band of people who are more than just an assembly
to my country but protectors who have done more than protecting.
Now we have lost three of these divine people: Birg. General Mebrahtu
Teklaeb (Vaynak), Birg.General Amanuel Haile (Hanjama), and Ghedim Tegadelay
Desu Tesfatsion. Not only have we lost them but we have lost them in such a
downright depressing and melancholy way. These chivalrous fighters were
traveling to participate on the three-day pilgrimage to Mahminet to
commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Eritrean People Liberation Front's
(EPLF) victory over the Ethiopian "Wukaw Command" (wukaw iz) of 1984. They
were traveling to celebrate an accomplishment that glorified the Eritrean
people. In other words they were being advocates for Eritrean spirited
people. They were celebrating for their cause. Then they came into a fatal
car crash that left three dead and one in a coma. How can we endure such
pain that has attacked us out of nowhere with any such ease? This
predicament has brought Eritreans to such a sorrow state.
Three people were traveling to enjoy one of their most hard fought
accomplishments just to get into a fatal car crash that left them dead.
These gallant and stout people we have unfortunately lost. This has been a
big loss for us and of course for their families. It is a heavy dose of
strife and grief capped with an abundance of mourning all in the speed of
light. Suddenly we have lost three heroic people. It was as if a second ago
they were in the safety of our palms. They were guiding us to the
everlasting light and now it seems as if they have perished. What shall we
do now is the question. Should we mourn? Should we be devastated because of
this jab to the stomach for us? Or shall we look at this experience from a
different angle that perhaps enlightens such a dim and dull time for us
Eritreans?
I have realized that to lose people so special is something that has
affected us all in immense ways. These people have an impact on us to such
an extent that whatever happens to them is felt in our heart by this tingle.
This applies to all Eritreans. These people have been the barriers of a
place targeted for the bombarding. They are the barriers of a place that has
been targeted countless times in order to be annihilated. I cannot go into
deep detail about what these people have done because it brings back more
grief. But what they have done has taught us Eritreans something else. These
people have protected and helped Eritrea walk on its own their whole life.
They started young. They joined an army that was regarded by the enemy to be
erudite in no aspects of the military. So essentially we were fighting a
battle that we were going to lose. What made things worse was the fact that
we were fighting against a country supported by numerous superpowers. We
were practically a hopeless dream that would whither off to space. A dream
for independence and a striving Eritrea was a meek possibility, but people
like this threesome did not believe that.
They believed that Eritrea would fight against all the odds even though
"impossible" was written by others all through this dream that they aspired.
But they had a special weapon that no other army even a superpowers had.
This was this amazing source of perseverance, determination, and devotion.
They had the drive that would lead them to unimaginable places. They were
selfless people who would sacrifice everything for a whole nation. Many of
these heroic people fought through the land of Eritrea and marked their
souls and character deep into the ground of our mother land Eritrea. These
people brought a country as a people who were tormented and isolated from
the rest of the world. Eritrea was a country that had been suppressed and
oppressed from being independent and thriving. It was a notion that would
not be accepted by the outside. Who was to help a lost country who was
never going to spark?
Many underestimated our people who were going to fight for independence.
What they didn't realize was the only reason we accomplished this heroic and
everlasting feat was because of those special people we had. This included
our threesome whose souls have unfortunately left this world. We had a
wildcard. One that overpowered and melted all the adversaries as if they
were never there. One that without them there would be no Eritrea. We had a
group of special people who were willing to sacrifice their lives. Who were
willing to give up their hopes and dreams for a more collective and powerful
aspiration being the striving Eritrea. These were a special people who died
to open a pathway that we Eritreans can embark on. They opened a possibility
for Eritreans to be independent and proud, and to have a country where we
speak loud with courage and determination. We have now lost three as I have
said before. What do we now do? Do we melt down as we have lost more heroes
or should we explore as I said before a different angle of this experience.
We need to realize that these men have not passed away. In fact they are
still in the land of Eritrea right now. Their legends have been implemented
into our hearts so they will never disappear from our minds. They have never
died and never will. They will long live in our thoughts and hearts as they
are too heroic and influential figures that move a whole country. We have
something so special that runs through our veins and pumps our blood. We
have a people brought by God to save a country. Now that these three great
men have died we need to continue and embark on their journey. We need to
realize that there is no turning back. They have given us so much and we
gradually need to improve on this beautiful Eritrea they have liberated for
us. Lastly I would like to say thanks to these three special people who gave
Eritrea something that is taken for granted called life.
