Toronto Event began after officially opened up the celebration by Mr. Ahmed
Iman Head, Consular Affairs. He start by congratulating Eritrean people on
23rd anniversary, also thanks to all those that worked hard to make this
year independence celebration in Toronto and its environs colorful and well
organized events, as the hard work is a proofing fact, as this year theme

sends a message to our GOE, EDF and in General the Eritrean people within
Eritrea and abroad Ruhus be’al natsent..
Hundreds of citizens and friends of Eritrea participated in the
Independence Day celebrations organized in a colorful manner , In the
celebrations organized featuring cultural shows, this year celebration was
a 2 day long festivity which concluded on Monday May 19, 2014 in Toronto
at the park sport activities, BBQ and cultural night which also had one of
the biggest turnout of several hundred came out to celebrate their 23rd
independence with patriotic enthusiasm, Eritrean nationals residing in
Toronto and in its environs as well Winnipeg Canada stated that this year’s
May 24 is both special and historical as it is being celebrated after the
staging a huge success in all aspect in the motherland Eritrea achievement
citizens reverberated strong voice of truth is prevailing and now the
23rdanniversary is a turning point that Eritrea will be in the next era in
terms of economic aspect along with all the development that achieved
thanks to the dedication of GOE, Warsay and in general the hard working
people of Eritrea. In this connection, we the Eritrean people resident in
Canada affirmed commitment to live up to the nation’s expectations.
The Independence celebration concluded with patriotic zeal and very
successful with high moral boost the willingness to work hard to committing
to live up the to their community and nation’s expectations. The event
23rd anniversary was absolutely to be remembered for years to come with our
local stars vocalist Daniel Nebiat, Fitsum Fessehaye and Mebrahtu Hidray
along with their band musicians Noel Haile and John Ogbe excellent
patriotic performance is much appreciated...".. Also given thanks to all
the volunteers, the camera crews Video and pictures always appreciated for
taking the time to make all Eritrea related event colorful and marvelous
job. Eritrean community in Toronto and its environs will also have a flag
raising on the actual day of our independence Saturday May,24, 2014 at
noon in the city of Toronto “City Hall” in addition to add colorful to our
special 23rd independence day... Eritrean flag will be Hoisted.
