High school students included in the political training

After the Ethiopian government trained Ethiopian university students on its
political ideologies, Revolutionary Democracy, it has now started forcing
secondary school students across the country to sign up for the same
training.
In some areas, students that had information about the planned training have
already refused to sign up although local government officials are forcing
teachers to entice the students.
After the teachers' training was completed with no success, the number of
students that showed up for the so called training on "peace and the
educational system" was smaller than expected, a teacher told ESAT.
Schools were set to open on August 25, 2014, however due to the political
training, class has not yet begun. Angered teachers are also leaving their
jobs. Negere Ethiopia Newspaper reported yesterday that some students have
been heard saying "We are under 18 years old, why do you keep on at us?",
"EPRDF will not be elected"; police was frightening them for "disturbing".
According to the plan by the Ministries of Education and Federal Affairs,
all first year university students are to be given training from September
26, 2014 for two weeks before existing and senior students return to campus.
