Eritrean community members in Khartoum and environs assert readiness to
live up to expectations
Asmara, 02 February 2015 – Eritrean community members in Khartoum and its
environs have asserted readiness to live up to expectations through higher
organizational capacity. They made the pledge in connection with the 3rd
conference the members conducted recently.

Speaking on the occasion in which over 400 participants, representatives of
national associations and East Sudanese community citizens took part, Mr.
Ibrahim Idris, Charge d’affaires in the Eritrean Embassy in the Republic of
Sudan, noted the historical background of Eritrean community organization
in that country and the role played in the days of armed struggle for
independence. He also stated that the present communities are playing
active role in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and ensuring economic
progress.

Mr. Yemane Tesfaselasie, Chairman of the community, presented a report
accomplishment over the past three years, and expressed appreciation for
nationals demonstrating active participation in strengthening the
activities of the community.
Commending the exemplary attachment of Eritrean citizens with the Homeland,
Mr. Idris Mohammed-Seid, Secretary of Eritrean-Sudanese Friendship
Association, further voiced readiness to exert efforts for the benefit of
both peoples, in collaboration with the Eritrean Embassy and community.
The participants adopted action plan for the future and elected a 33-member
Managing committee.
The Conference also witnessed the staging of cultural performances by Hidri
Cultural Troupe of the Community.
