Why do some Eritreans have such strong faith in their country when so many Eritreans are running from their country? Long identified as an enemy of the West because of its revolutionary Socialist ideology, we will take a rare opportunity to get an update on Eritrea’s current state from Eritreans who wish to build their country.An Italian Naval vessel carrying 992 rescued migrants, dropped anchor just outside the small southern Sicilian port of Pozzallo on May 29th.This shipload, including about 200 minors and mostly made up by Eritreans, was part of the more than 4,200 migrants trying to reach Europe that were rescued from boats in the Mediterranean in only 24 hours.On the same day, some 200 mostly Eritrean migrants heading northwards from Italy were turned back by police in the Italian Alps and left sleeping in train stations as European countries tightened frontier checks before a global summit in Germany. There are, however, many Eritreans determined to defend their young nation as they feel their hard won revolution is doing well in a very hostile international climate. This episode will give voice to these Eritreans and give viewers an opportunity to understand the other side of the story that no Western media outlet is telling.
