NUEW branch in Europe: Extensive preparations underway to commemorate
Women’s International Day with zeal
Asmara, 27 February 2015 – Ms. Mebrat Habtu, Chairperson of the National
Union of Eritrean Women’s branch in Europe, stated that extensive
preparations are underway to commemorate Women’s International Day with
zeal.
She told Erina via telephone that the commemorative event would take place
in all branches and sub-branches of the NUEW across Europe with various
programs, including briefings highlighting the Day, report accomplishment
of the branches, discussions focusing on the objective situation in the
Homeland and staging of cultural performances, among others. Ms. Mebrat
went to indicate that youth in general and that of females in particular
are making the necessary preparations to add color to the commemorative
event.
Moreover, national organizations and associations in the continent have
been finalized preparations to extend the required support to the NUEW so
as to realize the Day as part of the national development endeavors, she
added.
The Chairperson further explained that the Women’s International Day is an
occasion during which Eritrean women should reiterate readiness to further
enhance more efforts in State affairs and ensure their participation in
development endeavors.
The NUEW branch’s in Europe was founded in 2008 and has a 2,500 members.
