Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry meets Eritrean counterpart on the sidelines of meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations
He met Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday, with the Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh, on the sidelines of meetings of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
The meeting focused on the follow-up course of bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in all fields, in addition to anti-terrorism efforts and factors of instability in the region, including coordination between the two countries with regard to the security of the Red Sea.
For his part; adviser Ahmed Abu Zeid, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said after the meeting that the talks between the foreign ministers reflected the relationship between Egypt and Eritrea and common interests related to the security of the Red Sea privacy, as well as the desire of the two parties in the promotion of bilateral relations.
He explained that it was agreed during the meeting to intensify consultation and coordination between Egypt and Eritrea with regard to regional challenges, in particular the latest developments in southern Sudan, Libya and Yemen.
