Belarus seeks closer cooperation with African states President

President 13.12.2016

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – Belarus continues seeking common ground with a view to expanding cooperation with African countries, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during a ceremony of the presentation of ambassadors' credentials on 13 December.

“We hope for the intensification of our relations with the African continent. We have been recently attaching close attention to Africa. We continue seeking more common ground and are ready to expand the dialogue,” said the head of state.

In his words, Belarus can boast positive experience in cooperation with Burkina Faso with regard to the supplies of technical products. “I think that the new Ambassador will be a reliable guide into the whole existing potential of our cooperation,” said the President.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Eritrea is an area where a lot still can be done. “I am confident that with joint efforts we will be able to find ways for successful development of cooperation for the benefit of our countries,” the Belarusian leader added.

The President received the credentials from the Ambassadors of Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Canada, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Mongolia, Finland, France, Eritrea, Estonia, and the Apostolic Nuncio to Belarus.
