Isak has signed a "long-term contract", which reports in Germany suggest will tie him to the club until 2022.

Borussia Dortmund has signed highly rated Sweden international Alexander Isak from AIK. The 17-year-old forward has enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom and now joins the Bundesliga heavyweights in a deal that will reportedly cost an initial €9million, with add-ons.

Isak has signed a "long-term contract", which reports in Germany suggest will tie him to the club until 2022.

"Borussia Dortmund have signed talented young Swedish striker Alexander Isak," read the club's statement.

"Due to the fact that Isak is still a minor, the completion of the transfer still requires special approval by world football’s governing body FIFA, which all parties expect to receive very soon."

Isak has drawn comparisons to Sweden icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic and made his international debut earlier this month against Ivory Coast.

He then became youngest goalscorer in Sweden's history in his second cap netting against Slovakia.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc hailed the signing, revealing his side had beaten some of Europe's biggest clubs to Isak's signature. "Alexander Isak is a hugely talented striker, who many top clubs in Europe wanted to sign," said Zorc.

"We are delighted that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund. Both BVB and the player himself are convinced that this transfer has great potential."
Isak only made his professional debut under a year ago, scoring for AIK against Tenhults IF at the age of 16 last February.

The 17-year-old reportedly joins in a deal worth around €10 million, on a contract until 2022, after rejecting an offer from Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of AIK striker Alexander Isak, widely dubbed as 'the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic', on a "long-term deal".

The teenager is regarded as one of the most promising in Europe, having made his debut at AIK as a 16-year-old and quickly establishing himself in Rikard Norling's starting line-up.

Real Madrid were heavily linked with Isak, who reportedly shares an agent with Luka Modric, with a €10 million transfer being close to completion before Dortmund made their move.

"Alexander Isak is a hugely-talented striker, who many top clubs in Europe wanted to sign," sporting director Michael Zorc said in a statement.

"We are delighted that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund. Both BVB and the player himself are convinced that this transfer has great potential."

The club added: "Due to the fact that Isak is still a minor, the completion of the transfer still requires special approval by world football’s governing body FIFA, which all parties expect to receive very soon."

Isak, who turns 18 in September and has reportedly signed a contract until 2022, had 13 goals in 29 games for AIK this season and recently became Sweden's youngest ever goalscorer.

Dortmund snap up Swedish teenage striker Isak
Borussia Dortmund have signed Swedish teenager Alexander Isak on a long-term contract pending a green light from world soccer's governing body FIFA due to the gifted striker being under 18, the German club said on Monday.
The 17-year-old Isak, who only days ago he was reportedly set to join Spanish giants Real Madrid, made his professional debut for AIK at the age of 16.
He became Sweden's youngest ever goalscorer this month, netting in his first start in a 6-0 friendly thrashing of Slovakia.
"He is an amazing striker talent sought after by many top European clubs," Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc said. "We are delighted that he decided to join Borussia Dortmund."
"Dortmund and the player are both convinced this is a transfer with great prospects."
Isak is widely regarded as the most promising Swedish player since Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Technically excellent, the slight teenager's greatest strength is his maturity and ability to make the right decisions under pressure.
Isak scored 10 league goals in 19 league starts to help AIK finish second in Sweden's top flight last season and qualify for the Europa League.
