International Cycling Tour of Setif: Moroccan Essaid Abelouache wins second stage
SETIF (Algeria)- Moroccan cyclist Essaid Abelouache, from Emirates' Nasr-Dubai Club, won Monday the second stage of the International Cycling Tour of Setif, the fifth event of the Grand Tour of Algeria (GTAC-2016), snatching the leader's yellow jersey, best sprinter's red jersey and best climber's polka dot jersey.
The Moroccan cyclist covered 117km (Setif-Bougaa-Setif) in 2:56.16, ahead of his two teammates Lithuanian Tomas Vaitkus (2:56.16) and Algerian Algerian Adil Barbari (2:56.17).
The best hopeful's white jersey went to Algerian Saidi Nassim.

International Tour de Sétif (Step 2): The Moroccan Abelouache wins and takes all
SETIF - Moroccan runner Essaid Abelouache the UAE training Nasr, Dubai, won Monday's second stage of the cyclist International Tour de Setif, accounting for the GTAC-2016, donning the yellow jersey of leader, red best sprinter and peas best climber.
Moroccan crossed the finish line of the stage, run between Sétif- Bougaa Setif-a distance of 117 km, in the time of 2:56: 16, ahead of his two teammates, Lithuanian Tomas Vaitkus (2:56: 16) and the Algerian Adil Barbari (2:56: 17).
The white jersey of best hope was retained by the Algerian Nassim Saidi.
The second stage of Setif International Tower, fifth test of GTAC-2016 was run in a magical setting imposed by snow which covered the heights of Bougaa, Beni and Oussine Ain Roua.
In terms of the race, two Algerian cyclists, namely Abdelbaset Hanachi the East selection and Samir Allouchi the West selection, embarked on a breakaway in the town of Ain Zada, pushing the pack to more than one minute.
The leading duo managed to pass the towns of El Hadra Khelil and unmolested by the peloton which began to roll through the efforts provided by the crew of the yellow jersey, the Lithuanian Tomas Vaitkus.
Arriving at the rise of Bougaa, the two leaders were caught by the peloton, led by Dubai-Nasr team.
In Beni Oussine, four riders from the UAE training (Abelouache, Barbari, Vaitkus and Wackerman) have "supported" the fungus to take the lead of the race.
The quartet finished the course as if it were a race against the team time trial, arrived to take more than three minutes over the pack, unable to react to the infernal pace set by the riders of this team.
Moroccan Essaid Abelouache eventually was fastest in the final sprint in front of his three teammates.
