Dear Eritrean Community members
This is an invitation to all members of the community and friends.The Eritrean Community in Winnipeg Inc. has been an integral part of the Ebola Relief committee of the African Communities of Manitoba.
The Eritrean community organized a fund-raising dinner on Aprile 25th 2015 that raised $3000 dollars (out of the 10000 dollars tottaly rasied by ACOMI) that are being donated to the orphan children victims of Ebola through the African Communities of Manitoba (ACOMI).
The Eritrean Community In Winnipeg Inc. actively engaged, participated and contributed to the Ebola Relief Com-mite The co-chair and secretary of the Ebola Relief Committee are all the Board of the Eritrean Community and worked for 18 months for the implementation of this project.
On March 21st 2016 at 06:00 p.m. one of the developers of the Ebola vaccine Dr Gary Kobinger will speak at an event of at the Eckardt Gramatte Hall (2nd floor) of the University of Winnipeg .
The event brings the African Communities of Manitoba together and as part of the event the Co-chiar of the Committee from the Eritrean Community in Winnipeg Inc will preset the report of the Ebola relief Committee of ACOMI
Our Community members have fulfilled their duty as African Canadians in Manitoba and in Canada and have proven the vibrancy of CECCO and the Eritreabn Communties across Canada

Meeting the Challenge - The Ebola Crisis in Africa
The EBOLA Committee of the African Communities of Manitoba, Inc., presents, "Meeting the Challenge - The Ebola Crisis in Africa" on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the University of Winnipeg 515 Portage Avenue Eckhardt Gramatté Hall, 3rd Floor.
The EBOLA Committee of ACOMI took on the challenge to raise awareness and funds to support the affected West African countries last year. The Committee provided local support for the respective communities in Manitoba during this crisis and advocated for the affected victims and families in Canada. Through a collective effort that brought together the African Communities of Manitoba in a spirit of solidarity, $10,000.00 was raised towards the orphaned children and victims of the Ebola virus disease in West Africa.
"Meeting the Challenge" is the wrap up of activities for the EBOLA Committee of ACOMI. The evening will see Dr. Gary Kobinger, Head of Special Pathogens, the National Microbiology Laboratory Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Branch, of the Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health Public Health Agency of Canada - Government of Canada; speak on the Ebola Crisis and how the vaccine was developed here in Winnipeg.
The event will have the African Youth of Manitoba bringing a celebratory tone, in recognition of the courage and achievements of the people of West Africa, those on the frontline and the people that worked behind the scenes against the deadly virus disease of Ebola.
