Barentu, 05 April 2016- The Banatom factory has put in place additional tomato processing machinery. The new machinery will enable the factory to increase production and thereby satisfy the local market. The factory is under the auspices of the Eritrean Livestock and Crops Corporation.
The head of the corporation, Maj. Kibreab Abraham indicated that the new machinery that has already began operation is aimed at increasing tomato paste production and supply the local market with fair price.
The manager of the factory, Lt/Col. Tekie Woldu on his part pointed out that with the abundant tomato production the factory will aim to export production and contribute its part in the economic development of the country.
Banatom factory is banana and tomato processing factory established in 2011 and is located in Alebu, the Gash Barka region. The factory is making significant contribution in creating employment opportunities and nurturing skilled man power.
