The four parties that formed the Movement are the Oromo Democratic Front (ODF), Patriotic Ginbot 7 Movement for Unity and Democracy (PG7), the Afar People’s Party and the Sidama People’s Democratic Movement.
Leaders of the four parties will sign the document at a public gathering on Sunday in Washington, DC. More political parties are expected to join the National Movement, it was learnt.
It is to be recalled that ODF and PG7 had already formed an alliance early this year.
Ethiopians at home and in the Diaspora have been urging opposition political parties to have cohesion and unity in a bid to do away with a tyrannical regime that is facing uprising in all corners of the country.
