He pedaled in 4 hours 27 minutes and 17 seconds the 169 km long
distance from Gourcy-Ziniare at an average speed of 38.93 km per hour.
On Saturday, at the second stage of the competition, two riders from
Burkina Faso Hamidou Yameogo and Rouamba Abdoulaye were excluded of
the tour for lack of discipline.
Ninety riders from 13 countries and regions participated in the
1,334-kilometer, 10-stage race that will end on Nov. 6.
They come from Europeans countries such as Germany, France, Belgium
and the Netherlands, and African countries such as Benin, Burkina
Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, Togo, Congo, Algeria, Morocco and Eritrea.
