Ahmadinejad: UNSC needs fundamental change

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Saturday strongly condemned the
performance of the United Nations in dealing with the horrific crimes of
the Zionists in Gaza and called for a fundamental change in the United
Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Speaking to Basiji (voluntary forces) staff of the Presidential office
on Saturday, the president said the both structure and the venue of UNSC
should be changed.
Unilateral and inhuman decisions made by the UNSC are worthless for
world nations, he said.
It is quite obvious that the UN cannot carry out its duties properly
because if someone wishes to go to the UN, he or she should wait about
three months to get visa from the US, he underlined.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to allocate a suitable place for
the United Nation headquarters, the president suggested.
The UN was established to establish security and defend the independence
and freedom of nations, he said, adding that a number of prominent
leaders including the late Imam Khomeini were opposed to establishment
of the UN by hegemonic powers.
UNSC has been turned into a tools in the hands of the US to pursue its
goals, he said, adding that the United Nations has been restricted to
the UNSC which is under influence of the US which spares no efforts to
back the Zionists.
The UN should undergo a fundamental change in order to defend the rights
of nations, he said.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad strongly criticized the silence of the
Organization of Islamic Conference over inhuman crimes and atrocities of
the Zionists forces in Gaza.
The president recalled that the organization was basically established
to support the legitimate rights of Palestinians which were being
trampled upon by Zionists occupiers, he said.
He referred to the crimes of the Zionist forces in Gaza Strip and said
that the establishment of the Zionist regime was masterminded by global
hegemony and colonial powers.
Colonial powers not only established the Zionist regime to dominate
Islamic states as well as countries in the region but also to take
control of the entire world, he said.
The nature of the Zionist regime rests on aggression and occupation, he
said, adding that the Zionist regime targeted Lebanon two years ago on
baseless allegations and now they have targeted the Gaza Strip on the
same pretext and tomorrow they might target Jordan, Egypt or any other
country in the region on the same excuse.
Describing the inhuman acts of the Zionist forces in the Gaza Strip as
unprecedented, he said the carnage unleashed on innocent women and
children and wide-scale bombardment of defenseless people, the closure
of borders and hindering the flow of food and medicines should be
regarded as unprecedented crimes in the history the illegitimate regime.
Some analysts believe that the Zionists have targeted Gaza Strip to
compensate for its defeat in the 33-day war in Lebanon, said the
president.
Lebanese Hizbullah proved to what extent the Zionist forces are
vulnerable but they assume that they (Zionists) can defeat the
resistance movement by targeting the weakest position of resistance
movement in Gaza Strip but to no avail, he said.
Some analysts believe that the Zionist regime has targeted Gaza under
pressure exerted by Egypt to weaken Hamas, he said.
`We believe that the Zionist regime seeks an accomplice for its crimes
in the region and we advise the Egyptian government to break its silence
and clearly spell out its stance in dealing with other countries and its
own nation,` he said.
The myth of Holocaust has come to an end even in the West, he
underlined.
Those backing this fake regime should be held accountable to other
nations and the people in Palestine in particular, he said.
`If they (Zionists) were optimistic about their fate, they would never
commit such crimes,` he said.
Those who back the Zionist regime are now hesitant but they should know
that their names have been registered as supporters of the Zionists and
by the grace of God all will be brought to justice in the near future,
he said.
Free nations and Islamic countries should know that the money for
conducting transactions with Zionist regime`s companies and purchasing
their products will be turned into bombs and missiles to kill the
Palestinian people, he said.
President Ahmadinejad strongly condemned the silence of some Islamic
states in the face of crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
