Sudan and Eritrea reject international hegemony on peoples

Asmara, March 23 (SUNA)- Sudan and Eritrea affirmed their rejection to
international hegemony on peoples and necessitated removal of any
impediment facing exchange of commodities between the two countries. In
a joint press conference with Eritrean President Issias Afeworki in
Asmara Monday, President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir
said the visit came in response to invitation by President Afeworki to
show Eritrea's stand supporting Sudan and that they are in one trench
with the Sudanese people. President Al-Bashir pointed out that his visit
to Eritrea affirms that the decision of the International Criminal Court
(ICC) has no effect and remains just ink on paper. President Afeworki,
on his part, has reiterated Eritrea's rejection to ICC decision which is
a political decision and meant to destabilize Sudan and complicate
Darfur problem. Problems in Africa are just imposed by foreign circles,
said President Afeworki, affirming that the African leaders are capable
to overcome these challenges. The accompanying delegation drawing
Minister of the Presidency of the Republic Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor and Director of the National
Security and Intelligence Service Gen. Salah Abdullah held a meeting
with the Eritrean side followed by close-door meeting between Presidents
Al-Bashir and President Afeworki. Eritrean people crowded on two sides
of the street from Asmara Airport to the Presidential Palace, welcoming
President Al-Bashir and denouncing the ICC decision. AH/BT
