NUEYS-DC and YPFDJ-DC are happy to announce a dynamic new speaking series on
Eritrean history starting Sunday March 29th 4-6pm at ECCC 6th and L NW
Washington DC. This first installment will focus on the rich ancient history
of Eritrean civilization. Did you know Eritrea has the most archeological
sites in Africa, second only to Egypt?!
The keynote speaker will be Ghiday, the adult Eritrean language school
teacher. He is an expert in Eritrean language and history. He is also a
riveting, passionate and motivational speaker! Trust me, you will be on the
edge of your seat throughout this lecture and be forever enriched by
learning our rich collective history.
Future speaking events will track Eritrean history through Italian and
British colonization , the 30 year war for independence (multiple series),
and post independence (1991-2000). This speaking series is focused on
educating the youth but all age groups are welcome, especially older
Eritreans that can contribute and even lead the discussion.
ALL EVENTS WILL BE IN ENGLISH. Feel free to invite your friends, Eritrean
and non-Eritrean alike, and to help spread word.
