Saudi Arabia Confiscates Yemeni Boats; Sell Them at Auction
*
Yemen Post Staff
Sources at the Yemen Fish Cooperative Union on Monday said that Saudi
authorities had confiscated four Yemeni fishing boats and sold them at
auction.
The boats are said to have entered Saudi territorial waters, two nautical
miles, but unintentionally did they enter the country waters.
And when Saudi authorities saw them they captured Yemeni sailors aboard and
confiscated their boats.
On Sunday, Saudis transferred the boats to auction and deported the Yemeni
sailors to homeland, the sources said according to the deported accounts.
Saudi and Eritrean authorities have recently seized many Yemeni boats as
they entered the two countries' waters.
Most Yemeni fishing boats are classic of those who don't have modern
navigation systems.
And every time, Yemeni sailors who are arrested on the captured boats are
deported with their boats being confiscated.
