President Afwerki: Sudan is Capable to Hold Free and Fair Elections
Asmara, Mar. 5 (SUNA)- The President of Eritrea, Assais Afwerki, has
affirmed his confidence that free and fair elections will be held in
Sudan in next April. At the talks between the Sudanese and Eritrean
parties in Asmara, in the context of the visit of the President of the
Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir and the accompanying delegation
to Eritrea Friday, the Eritrean President assured his stand in support
of Sudan as Sudan has supported it in the past
The Official of Political Affairs at the Eritrean People's Front for
Democracy and Justice, Yamani Gabrab, said that the Eritrean President
expressed his appreciation of the Sudanese government and people for
their stances in support of the Eritrean people
He affirmed the keenness of the two countries for full coordination of
their stances on the regional and international issues
He reiterated the keenness of Eritrea to boost the efforts for reaching
durable peace in Darfur
