Every day is February 22nd, 2010 for Eritreans.
Unity, love for your people, practicing your constitutional rights as
citizens of the United States, Australia, & Europe, what a trait! It is
truly a blessing to be a role model citizen of the world. You are steadfast,
you have a strong connection with your history and most of all you are very
disciplined, and you should be proud of yourself for living February 22nd,
2010 everyday of your life. What binds you together? You guessed right if
you say that you originate from an ancient land of civilization known as
Eritrea.
History will never be forgotten when in the 1950’s the world body known as
the United Nations tried to cheat you out of your existence but as a people
you stood your ground and refused to be subjugated as second-class citizens
of the world. You refused the illegal unification with Ethiopia. Then the
rest was history. Time passed, it ticked away and Time kept on flowing like
a river into the sea and time also recorded the following fact, which
surprised the entire planet against all odds,
"By logic, the Nation of Eritrea should not exist. The secessionist
province's independence fighters ought never to have defeated Ethiopia in
their 30-year-long struggle. They were outmanned, outgunned, abandoned or
betrayed by every ally; their cause was hopeless. They won by force of
character, a unity and determination so steely not all the modern armaments,
super power support or economic superiority of Ethiopia could withstand
it."
Time Magazine (March 30th, 1998)
The above statement from Time magazine in 1998 following a new border war
sums it up in a nutshell when you think of the nation of Eritrea. War was
brought onto Eritrea again to destabilize it in the late 1990's and the
United States State department was responsible for manufacturing it. Yes and
the architect is non other than the person responsible for committing a
second crime against Eritrea. She is non other than Susan Rice. In one of
her biographies it says,
“From 1997 to 2001, Ambassador Rice was the U.S. Assistant Secretary of
State for African Affairs. In this position she formulated and implemented
overall U.S. policy for 48 countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, including
political, economic, security and humanitarian issues. As Assistant
Secretary, she oversaw the management of 43 U.S. Embassies and over 5,000
U.S. and Foreign Service national employees, with a bureau-operating budget
of over $100 million and a program budget of approximately $160 million
annually.”
Need we say more! Today Eritrea continues to be in a “No war, No Peace”
situation despite an international court ruling that favored Eritrea in a
final and binding decision on April 13th, 2002. Meanwhile the policy makers
at Foggy Bottom are working closely with a genocidal minority regime in
Ethiopia, to destabilize the entire horn of Africa region.
Eritreans have paid a huge price to get their independence. They will also
protect it by any means necessary. Defending their nation while building
their nation is proving to be a success, a thought that never crossed the
mind of the enemies of Eritrea when war was waged on it in 1998. Eritreans
however became much more stronger and bolder. Their independence & freedom
will never be compromised. To quote his Excellency president Issayas “Eritrea
is not for sale”. The love of the Eritrean people and the admiration for the
George Washington of Eritrea, President Issayas Afewerki and the government
he leads has nothing to do with personalities, or any other fickle
considerations of that nature. It is a mutual feeling that no one else can
understand nor comprehend; it is genuine and will remain that way. No
western journalists or for that matter policy maker working with sellout
Eritreans can separate the relationship that the Eritrean people enjoy with
their leaders. Demonizing the President and working hard to alienate him
from the people will only help garner more support for him because he is the
symbol of the Eritrean nation. Today he has also become the symbol for the
oppressed people of the horn of Africa, which indicates that Eritrea is also
becoming the same.
President Issayas is a unique individual that can pass for a father, a
brother, and a son of every Eritrean citizen who truly loves their country;
he simply portrays the vision that is Eritrea. This is because of
the exemplary governance and the exceptional leadership qualities that the
President and all other Eritrean leaders posses despite the many obstacles
and challenges that Eritrea continues to face today.
On the whole, Eritreans genuinely believe in the inherent goodness that
Eritrea's current leadership embodies, which has been demonstrated
consistently over a very long period of time. In the true sense the people
are the government and the government is the people.
The super-positive feelings about this leadership and government are based
on solid, abundant and incontrovertible results that are laid out in front
of everyone that has eyes to see and judge for themselves. Like the millions
of concerned Eritreans, the people who believe in the President and
Government possess enough knowledge about the country's affairs and its
current circumstances. A majority of Eritreans are able to realistically
assess the overall situation and arrive at a rational conclusion; most
Eritreans inside and outside Eritrea are also sufficiently knowledgeable
about the overall state of their country & people, at this point in time, to
be able to confidently say what their immediate needs and priorities are.
The United Nations led by the USA must repeal and annul the unjust sanctions
against Eritrea today. Eritrea has been sanctioned because the few handful
policy makers of the Obama administration have a previous grudge against its
leaders, which in turn means it's large majority of people as CLEARLY
INDICATED in the recently conducted worldwide demonstrations. They are also
protecting the genocidal regime in Ethiopia who has been able to lobby every
international and national institution via financial compensation. Instead
of supporting a self-reliant nation and a country that has been a beacon of
hope in the otherwise troubled African continent, these neo-con policy
makers want to punish it. The nation of Eritrea has become their worst
nightmare. Meanwhile, Eritrea's foremost priority has been to create food
sufficiency, eradicate poverty, disease and illiteracy as quickly as
possible.
The United Nations, the few handful actors at the State department, the
British government and the multibillion NGO industry, as well as the highly
influenced media organizations are responsible parties for the sanctions and
they will all be implicated as such by the rules and in Eritrean’s eyes.
They must stop shoving down Eritrea’s throat a not-so-urgent,
fashionable concept, such as “western democratization”. They have got to
stop meddling in Eritrea’s & other countries’ internal issues. Nobody can
force the western ideology upon the diverse people of Eritrea prematurely.
Grassroots movements by Eritreans seem to already be working fine in
creating a just and democratic nation which will one day lead to a bigger
political process that would fit the Eritrean people's needs. Just like in
the USA the concept of "for the people by the people" and not for the people
by others must be allowed to flourish in Eritrea.
Eritreans have honestly assessed the many, many positive accomplishments
of their government and its leaders from all angles and perspectives.
Providing the basic necessities of human rights by allowing education and
healthcare to every sector of the country, Improving literacy rate, building
and developing the nation, creating and making peace in Sudan by bringing
all factions together, standing up for the people of Somalia as a whole,
despite challenges working on creating a strong self reliant economy,
etc.... These are just some of the great accomplishments by the GOE. On
balance, a large majority of Eritreans find the work of the their government
very impressive, they have also assessed the true nature of those people who
are 'out-of-reach' and 'out-of-touch' with reality, those elements that try
to pass as political alternatives that are utterly disgusting. Ten people
organizations funded by the west will not be accepted in Eritrea and as a
people Eritreans will fight to eliminate any group that attempts to
destabilize this peaceful nation.
In a nutshell, those are the realities that motivate Eritreans to be
ardent supporters of Eritrea's current leadership. Eritreans have been able
to freely pick & choose who is qualified to lead their country in the right
direction. They need to be left alone to continue building their nation.
There will come such a time when the country will be comfortably sitting on
a solid base that will ensure a peaceful, stable and accelerated progress in
all important spheres of development. The people of Eritrea and not
outsiders can only strategize Eritrea’s political process however long it
takes.
The loyalty and support for his Excellency President Issayas Afewerki and
the government that he leads rest on NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS THAN
THESE FACTORS. Working day and night to create a monster vision of the
people’s leaders will only give Eritreans a stronger psyche and an
opportunity to judge for themselves who the real Monster is. This is
Eritrea's current reality as witnessed by genuine Eritreans; it is the only
reality that matters when deciding to stand with the government & people of
Eritrea.
The United Nations must stop the illegal sanctions (Resolution
1907) today.
Eternal Glory to Eritrea’s Martyrs.
As always, Victory to the masses!
