Teklemariam-Earned his greatest victory ever as Eritrea earns Team Silver
The unexpected greatest performance ever for Teklemariam to earn his first Silver medal at the World Cross Country Championship came today! First Eritrean to earn a medal at the World Cross Country Championship was Zerisenay in 2005 by winning silver. Today Teklemariam earned a victory of the same magnitude !
Samuel Tsegay and Simon Bairu also earned their best performance ever in the World Cross Country Championships at 5th and 13th respectively.
Eritrea earned its silver medal for finishing second as a team following Kenya.
For Eritrea to get Silver medal in the absence of the veteran runners: Zerisenay and Yonas ; shows the strength and determination of the young runners ! The Juniors also finished 4th as a team.
It is extremely thrilling for EAAA to see the runners that it has supported/sponsored in excelling to an unexpected highest performance.
