Dr Nafie Hails Role of Eritrea in Protecting Sudan unity
Khartoum, May 9 (SUNA)- Assistant of the President of the Reoublic, Dr Nafie Ali Nafie, has appreciated firmness of the Sudanese - Eritrean relations and hailed Eritrea's role in boosting Sudan unity
Following a meeting with the visiting Eritrean delegation, led by the Foreign Minister, Nafie said that the unity between north and south Sudan does not only concerns the National Congress and Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM), but also concerns the whole Sudanese people
He said that the National Congress supports any move tending to keep Sudan unified
Dr Nafie described the Sudanese - Erirean ties as eternal as the two countries are sharing identical views on the regional and international issues
The delegation conveyed President Afwerki's congratulations to President Al Bashir on his election
President Afwerki's Political Advisor, Yamani Qabrab, hoped that the upcoming referandum will lead to unity, saying Eritrea backs all the peace efforts in Sudan
