Al-Bashir, Afewerki agree to Boost Efforts of Qatar and Sudan to solve differences between Eritrea and Djibouti

Khartoum, May 27 (SUNA) - Sudan and Eritrea have agreed to unify and to boost the efforts being exerted by the State of Qatar and Sudan to solve the differences between Eritrea and Djibouti

The State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti said in a statement to SUNA following a meeting between President Al-Bashir and President of Eritrea, Issias Afewerki, at the Republican Palace Wednesday evening that the two Presidents sopke a lot about the Sudan's initiative to bridge the gap between Eritrea and Djibouti

He explained that there was an apparent readiness to accept any solutions pertinent to Sudan's initiative to solve the differences between the two countries

Karti affirmed Sudan commitment to continue its efforts in this connection following the oath-taking ceremony of President Al-Bashir and the formation of the new government

He said that the meeting touched on the situation in Sudan following the elections and the referendum, explaining that President Al-Bashir affirmed the commitment of the Government and the National Congress to accept outcome of the referendum and to prepare for it

The Minister added that the situation of Sudan after the elections and referendum will be among the issues to be discussed by President Al-Bashir and the presidents who are participating in his inauguration of the President of Sudan for a new presidential term
