Sunridge Gold hires consultants for prefeasibility study at Asmara North

Sunridge Gold Corp. (TSX-V: SGC) said Monday it has hired two indepedent
engineering consultants to conduct a prefeasibility study on the Asmara
North copper-zinc-gold deposits in Eritrea.
The study, which will be maanged by Snowden Mining Industry Consultants and
assisted by GBM Minerals, will consider a centralized process plant, using
flotation for recovery of the base metals. Consultants will look to asses
various mining options over an expected mine life of between 10 to 14 years.
The prefeasibility report, expected in the fourth quarter, will also
investigate options for the development of a gold recovery plant to process
material from surface zones of mineralization.
"This prefeasibility study will provide the direction of development of the
Asmara North deposits to production," said vice president of projects for
Sunridge, Scott Ansell.
The Asmara North deposits are made up of three distinct deposits: Emba
Derho, a large 62 million tonne copper-zinc-gold volcanogenic massive
sulphide (VMS) deposit; Adi Nefas, located 6 kilometers from Emba Derho, but
a much smaller and higher grade zinc-gold-copper VMS deposit; and the Gupo
gold deposit.
Sunridge also has an option to acquire the nearby Debarwa deposit, also a
high grade copper-gold-zinc VMS property currently in feasibility study
stage. The prefeasbility report on Asmara North will evaluate options to
transport ore from Debarwa to a central processing facility at Asmara.
Aside from its properties in Eritrea, Sunridge also has exploration projects
in Madagascar.
