Dr. Ismail denies foreign intervention in East Sudan
Khartoum, Feb. 23 (SUNA) - The Presidential Advisor and official in charge of the file of eastern Sudan in the National Congress, Dr. Muustafa Osman Ismail, has denied Wednesday existence of any foreign interventions in Eastern Sudan
He explained that if the visit paid to eastern Sudan by the US Special envoy to Sudan, Gen. Scott Gration, was considered unfortunate, then the matter ended at that point
Dr. Ismail affirmed in a statement to SUNA that eastern Sudan is very secure and stable and that all the development and strategic plans are progressing very well as scheduled
The Presidential Advisor said that eastern Sudan peace agreement has been implemented in the best way and that implementation of the outcome of the Donor Conference for the Reconstruction of Eastern Sudan, which was held in Kuwait recently, is underway
Dr. Ismail stressed that any statements on problems in eastern Sudan are baseless, false and isolated.
