Sunday, April 17, 2011Eritreans to emulate Tagum's agri practicesTAGUM CITY,
Davao del Norte, April 17 (PIA) – Seven nationals from the Ministry of
Agriculture of Eritrea, an infant country in Western Africa, paid a visit to
City of Tagum last April 14 to emulate best practices of the city in terms
of its agriculture program.
The main objective of the study tour was to familiarize the officers of EMA
on Integrated Pest Management Farmer Field School extension processes, Crop
Protection Research and Development, pesticide and quarantine policies and
regulations and other agricultural entrepreneur entities.
Leading the EMA group was Solomon Haile, director of planning and statistics
division, along with Bereketab Andemicael, Bekuretsion Habte, Yohannes
Beyente, Teberih Gaim, Nega Gedam and Paulos Andemariam.
They were welcomed at Tagum City Hall by Executive Assistant III to the
Mayor Delia B. dela Cruz.
Among the places they visited here were the Energy Park, the City Nursery,
Four Seasons Banana Chips Plantation, Christ the King Cathedral and the
