This is to let our fellow Eritrean Americans residing in Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties know that, as part of the nationwide Mekete campaign, a petition campaign has been launched and will go on until noon on Friday, April 13, 2012. The campaign is aimed at urging the international community to condemn the recent acts of military aggression committed against Eritrea by its neighbor, Ethiopia, and take punitive measures against the latter; demanding the completion of the last phase of the demarcation of the border between the two countries in accordance with the ruling issued by the Border Commission ten years ago and calling for the lifting of the sanctions imposed on Eritrea in 2009 and 2011.
