THE EEBC DECISION TEN YEARS LATER AND ETHIOPIA'S ILLEGAL OCCUPATION:
COMPLICITY OF THE UN

Today is the 10th anniversary of the Eritrean Ethiopian Border
Commission's (EBBC's) decision. A baby born then would have been 10
years old today! The peace loving people of Eritrea and Ethiopia,
with the decision, thought that the border issue had been solved once
and for all. Their future and hope was dashed when the Ethiopian
government with the complicity of the United Nations Security Council
(UNSC) refused to abide by the decision. Ten years is enough! UNSC as
a guarantor of the Algiers Peace Agreement should tell the Ethiopian
rulers to leave Eritrean territory immediately. The UNSC should also
annul the unfair, illegal and unjust sanctions resolutions (1907 and
2023) against Eritrea. The people of Eritrea and Ethiopia should not
be held hostage in order to prolong the life of the Ethiopian rulers.
The people of Eritrea and Ethiopia whose culture abhor conflict
deserve peace.
