I caught some of the festivities on Eri-TV. Quite an eventful week! Lots of cheers and patriotism were on display on the streets of Asmara and various municipalities across the country with street performances, parades, concerts and traditional ceremonies along with fireworks and lots of spirit. Cars and buildings were decorated with Eritrean flags. The float (carnival) seemed longer and more elaborate this year. Nice of the Sudanese leader and his delegation to come to Eritrea to participate in the celebrations.
Many cities in the U.S. are celebrating Eritrea's birthday this weekend so HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND to all Eritreans in North America and around the world!
