Lanka extends support to Eritrea

(Asmara): While establishing diplomatic relationship with the African
nation- Eritrea, Sri Lanka recalled that it used to extend support to
the Eritrean people's liberation struggle.
The first Sri Lankan Ambassador to Eritrea Ibrahim Sahib Ansar after
presenting credential to Eritrea President Isaias Afwerki, in a meeting
with the President "indicated that Sri Lanka wishes to develop relations
with Eritrea," media reports said.President Afwerki yesterday received
the credentials of 15 Ambassadors, including Sri Lankan Ambassador
during which he held talks with them on regional and international
issues.
The other Ambassadors are CT Rubushe of South Africa, Mrs. Paola Amandei
of the EU, Ms. Andrea Reidy OBE of the UK, Ms. Karj Maren Bjornsgaard of
Norway, R.L.R.M Van Embden of the Netherlands, Klaus Peter Schick of
Germany, Abdulkader Mohammed Hadi of Yemen, Fredrik Schiller of Sweden,
Dr. Thomas NADER of Austria, Daniel Ochieng' Makdwallo of Kenya, Shigeo
Iwatani of Japan, Igor Haustrate of Belgium, Oscar G. Valenzella of the
Philippines, and Sani Lawal Mohammed of Nigeria.
