National Congress to Launch Efforts for Reconciling between Leaders of
East Front
Khartoum, Oct. 26 (SUNA) - A committee of the National Congress has
completed formulation of its work programme to carry out contacts to
settle the differences between the leaders of the East Front which has
signed East Sudan peace agreement in Asmara, said the Secretary of the
Organizations' Secretariat at the National Congress, Dr. Qotbi Al-Mahdi,
who is the chairman of the National Congress committee for
reconciliation between the leaders of the East Front.
He said in a statement to SUNA Sunday that the committee would begin its
work in the next week. Dr. Al-Mahdi said that the committee has formed
contact groups including a number of leading figures of east Sudan at
the National Congress toward carrying out its mission.
He said that the differences between the leaders of the East Front are
solvable; adding that reconciliation between these leaders is attainable
on ground that accord between them will be for the interest of all the
people of east Sudan.
He appreciated the contacts and good offices carried out by leaders of
civil society organizations with the leaders of the East Front. MO/MO
