UD Almera have reached an agreement to sign Henok Goitom from Real Murcia
as they continue their summer rebuilding programme, the club's president
has confirmed.
The 24-year-old striker will take the place of Alvaro Negredo after he
returned to Real Madrid last month and will add strength and power to the
forward line.
Goitom impressed during a loan spell at Real Valladolid last term as he
scored ten goals in 29 outings and has secured a permanent move to Almera.
President Alfonso Garcia Gabarron made the news official after lengthy
negotiations during an interview with Murcia radio station Onda Regional.
The Almeria supremo explained that a deal of between EUR2 million and EUR3
million had been agreed and that Henok Goitom would have a medical at his
new club before putting pen-to-paper on a contract.
At 1.89cm (6ft 3in) the Swedish born forward of Eritrean ancestry is
strong on the ground and in the air and has impressed enough..
UD Almera finished 11th place in La
Liga last season.
