Shewit & Meron training well/ Petros qualifies for US Junior Olympics
Petros Welday, Shewit Weldense and Meron Fessehaye are doing well in their training and are the beneficiaries of EAAA's grassroots focus on high school runners. They have been getting training advice from EAAA Professional Desk Director, Simon Bairu.
Petros Welday will be heading for US Junior Olympics in 5000m and 1500m.
Shewit Weldense has been doing great in the track season leading the Green Hope to victory including up to national level. Shewit finished 4th in the 800m at the NCHSAA 4A Mideast Track and Field Championships. She was also one of the history making relay team last month taking 5th place. 'Girls' 4x400 Relay (Monica Greene, Cara Enright, Ashley Shaffer and Cameron Inglis) - 4th place, less than a second off the school record
Girls' 4x800 Relay (Shewit Weldense, Lauren Colberg, Carly Roos and Jessie Rossabi) - 5th place.' Green Hope athletics.
Meron Fessehaye has been doing well in her Freshman year and she is off to Eritrea for the summer. Meron is continuing her training in Asmara stadium. She said she is excited to meet Eritrea's best runners there and that her training is going well.
EAAA is specially pleased by the improvement and performance of these three runners Shewit, Petros and Meron.
