ONLF Forces defeated Woyana Militia in several battles in Ogaden

On 3 September 2009, Ogaden liberation forces and Woyana troops clashed
in Ogombi village, Jijiga province. Seven Woyana soldiers were killed
and nine others were wounded in the fighting, which also saw the
expulsion of Woyana troops from the village.
On 5 September 2009, Ogaden liberation forces launched a fierce attack
on colonial troops stationed in Magala-Ad in Shebelle province, killing
17 soldiers and wounding 24 others. Surviving soldiers drowned in
Shebelle River. At a place called Jika in the same province, Ogaden
liberation fighters ambushed a Land Cruiser carrying Woyana soldiers and
officers. The Woyana soldiers were travelling to East Imi from Ginnir.
The vehicle was destroyed and seven soldiers and officers riding in it
were killed.
On 12 September 2009, a battle occurred at a place near Nusdarik town in
Korahey province. Six Woyana soldiers were killed and a vehicle
belonging to them was destroyed.
On 13 September 2009, unflinching Ogaden liberation fighters carried out
an attack on desperate Woyana soldiers in Daba Jiris in Jerar province,
killing seven of them and wounding 12 others.
On 20 August 2009, four Woyana soldiers were killed and one was wounded
in Simane village, Nogob province. In the same village, Ogaden
liberation forces killed two Woyana soldiers and wounded two others in a
sneak attack, which took place on 28 August 2009.
