Though un invited, ill intentioned and sworn enemies of Eritrean may have
tried to disrupt or cause kayos, the annual Eritrean's Martyrs day
celebration went very well.

"It really went well," said a pleased attendee. If someone had to choose an
adjective to describe the mood of the day, it had to be "pride." There was
pride in the broad smile of all the veterans of the Eritrean struggle.

There was pride emanating from the veterans, parents and children who
participated in all the activities. There was pride enough to share as the
parents children and friends of the Eritrean People once again giving
Indiana the chance to see the Pride and solidarity of the Eritrean people.
Though the numbers often drop off by the time the celebration gets to its
final moment, large audience was on hand to congratulate the preparatory
committee.

"We must always remember the true heroes of the Eritrean wars. The heroes
are those who didn't come home," said one elderly mother. "Thank God for the
men who risk their lives so we can live in freedom. Eritrea is and will ever
be free and home of the brave.

For those who attempted to disrupt this important day in Eritrea's history,
It is not the place of a plebeian living comfortably in Indiana in the
United States of America - where no one is shooting at his/her family, nor
having to leave in fear of another invasion by Ethiopia, critique the
monumental struggle of a mighty people barely surviving a an expansionist
conquest of their ancestral lands.

And far be it for any mortal to critique the gentle Eritrean among a
population of 3.5 to 4 million who dares to courageously stand up for what
is decent and moral, who bears witness for crimes against humanity by
Ethiopian minority regime against one's own tribe and worldwide silence and
conspiracy in support of this minority regime.

But to also not point out the palpably obvious is a travesty of both thought
and justice. For, in order for the monumental struggle of the Eritreans so
called oppositions to result in anything other than, bickering amongst
themselves, negative articles and glossy magazine publishing, one perhaps
will have to incur the wrath of both the moralist as well as the Will and
strength of the Eritrean people.

In the past our patience and discipline was confused as weakness by our
enemies. The character trait of patience has distinct qualities and actions
that we need to rediscover. Patience is the ability to sit back and wait for
an expected outcome without experiencing anxiety, tension, or frustration.
It is the ability let go of your need for immediate gratification and be
willing to wait. Patience is the trait that displays tolerance, compassion,
understanding, and acceptance toward those who are slower than you in
developing maturity, emotional freedom, and coping abilities. Patience is
the ability to remain calm in the midst of turmoil because you know you are
in control.
